May Book Haul

By Kendra Sue - May 09, 2019

I got a few books this month, I probably won't read them for awhile, although I want to read All Out for the month of June since it is Pride Month!

I accidentally got the sequel to a book I haven't even read yet so I need to get the first book before I can even start Someday by David Levithan.

I got "All Out" because it's an LGBT book of retellings of queer and lgbt characters.

Synopsis for "All Out"

"Take a journey through time and genres and discover a past where queer figures live, love and shape the world around them. Seventeen of the best young adult authors across the queer spectrum have come together to create a collection of beautifully written diverse historical fiction for teens.

From a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood set in war-torn 1870s Mexico featuring a transgender soldier, to two girls falling in love while mourning the death of Kurt Cobain, forbidden love in a sixteenth-century Spanish convent or an asexual girl discovering her identity amid the 1970s roller-disco scene, All Out tells a diverse range of stories across cultures, time periods and identities, shedding light on an area of history often ignored or forgotten."

I'm going to try to read this for pride month since it is an LGBT novel!

Someday is the sequel to Everyday by David Levithan, which I haven't read yet. That was a mistake on my part, I thought I was getting the first book but I made a slight error lol.

I also got the second book that follows The Cruel Prince! "The Wicked King"  follows the events of Jude and her sisters from the first book. I won't be reading it for a little while since I have a list of books already that I'm going to read first, but when I get to it I'll make another blog post.

That's it for my May haul, I don't know if I'll get any more books this month but maybe look out for another post later this month.
