Book Haul

By Kendra Sue - February 25, 2020

So I did a bad thing and went to Barnes and Noble today and got...way too many books. I'm not gonna take pictures of all of them because that'll just take too much time, but I'm going to list them all here and what I think of them.

  1. The Last Time I'll Ever Write About You by Dawn Lanuza: I'm a slut for poetry, let's be real, and that's mainly the list of books I got here today. This book in particular I got because I suffer from a lot of trauma and just the title of this book drew me in because sometimes you just need closure. You need to write or read about something and just move on.
  2. The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey: self explanatory, the second book to the 5th Wave series which I'm halfway through the first book!
  3. The Odyssey by Homer: Not gonna lie, this cover is pretty and I wish I was taking pictures for this post because this cover is "aesthetic." I picked this up because I've always been curious about the Iliad and the Odyssey. I was never required to read either for school so I'm gonna pick it up by choice and see what I think of it. (I'll post a separate picture on my instagram, follow my links to find me!)
  4. The Okay Witch by Emma Steinkellner: This is a graphic novel I'm assuming for middle grade kids since the main character is thirteen. But since I'm wiccan/a witch I thought this was cute and wanted to pick it up. The cover is beautiful and whimsical and I'm really looking forward to seeing what it's about. The back says she gets powers and I'm really excited for that!
  5. Heart Talk- Poetic Wisdom for a better life by Cleo Wade: The cover for this is so pretty which I'm a slut for pretty covers. It's another poetry book and the text inside is really witty and fun too and I'm looking forward to speeding through it.
  6. Nocturnal by Wilder: Let's be real, this had a moon on the cover so obviously I had to pick it up. It's another poetry book and the cover is the only thing that made me pick it up. Because it's the moon, c'mon.
  7. Sincerely by F.S. Yousaf: Yet another poetry book, and again, the cover drew me in, plus the illustrations throughout the book, (yes I peeked)
  8. One Day I Will Save Myself by Elvira Sastre: another poetry book, I basically scoured this section of the store for 10 minutes finding books that looks aesthetically pleasing. The title of this one drew me in because I lack saving myself for anything. I'm always rooting for someone else and never for myself, and I really related with the title. Another cool thing about this book is there are poems written both in Spanish and english. I don't speak Spanish very well, or at all, but I just noticed this and I think it's cool.
  9. The Road Between by Courtney Peppernell: written by one of my favorite poetry authors so I just had to!
  10. The Last Star by Rick Yancey: The final book of the 5th wave series, just preparing myself since I'm falling in love with the first book so much.
  11. Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid: I FINALLY HAVE MY HANDS ON A HARD COPY OF THIS BOOK. I have the audiobook and the ebook but I have been searching for the hard copy for months and I finally have it!
